About Bay State Garage Door Service
Bay State Garage Door Service is a locally owned and operated garage door repair and installation company based in Newton, Massachusetts. We were built on a simple idea: that homeowners and business owners in Greater Boston deserve honest, skilled, and reliable garage door service — from a company that treats them like neighbors, not just service tickets.

Who we are
We are a Newton-based team of professional garage door technicians providing repair, installation, and emergency service across Greater Boston and the surrounding suburbs. Every technician we send to your home or business is licensed, insured, and experienced across all major garage door brands, opener systems, and door types.
We’re not a national franchise with a local phone number. We’re not a call center that dispatches technicians you’ve never interacted with and never will again. We’re a small, locally-rooted business — which means when you call us, you’re talking to people who live and work in the same communities you do.
What We Do
Bay State Garage Door Service provides a complete range of garage door services for residential and commercial properties:
Our Approach — Honest, Repair-First Service
The garage door industry has a reputation problem. Customers hear horror stories about technicians who show up, quote an inflated price, and push replacement when repair was perfectly viable. We built Bay State Garage Door Service deliberately to be different from that model.
Our approach is straightforward:
We believe this approach is both the right way to run a business and the best long-term strategy. Customers who trust us come back. Customers who feel respected tell their neighbors. That’s how a local business builds a real reputation.

How Our Service Works
How Our Service Works — Simple, Transparent, Fast
Step 1
Safety Is Central to Everything We Do
Garage doors are the largest moving objects in most homes — and the springs, cables, and hardware that operate them are under significant tension. Improperly handled garage door components can cause serious injury. We take safety seriously on every job:
- All work is performed by trained, experienced technicians — no helpers who aren't qualified to do the work
Step 2
Licensed, Insured, and Accountable
Bay State Garage Door Service carries full liability insurance and all required licensing for garage door work in Massachusetts. This protects you as a customer and demonstrates our commitment to operating a legitimate, accountable business. We stand behind every repair we perform.
- We follow proper procedures for releasing spring tension, cable work, and track realignment

What Our Customers Are Saying
Bay State Garage Door Service is proud to maintain a 5-star rating on Google. Every job we take on is an opportunity to earn a customer’s trust — and to keep it long after the repair is done. Here’s what Newton and Greater Boston homeowners have said about our service.
BELOW AVERAGE Based on 18 reviews Posted on Google K PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very rude and unhelpful front desk staff. You try to make an appointment and they tell you what's wrong with you like they're qualified and able to over the phone. Doctors are average and do what's necessary but nothing abovePosted on Google Noe UstedTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Horrible practice. Switched to this practice because my other one closed. Rude front desk. You have to have a new patient appointment which took a year to get and then a separate yearly exam. Waste of time and money. The doctor basically complained to me about having to take on the closed practice’s patients. Doctor reviewed my medications at beginning of appointment, and only asked me what I used the lidocaine for when I asked for refill at end of appointment. This tells me she didn’t read my history. Asked me how many kids I had. What is the point of using epic if you’re not going to read it. As I’m walking out the door she asks me about my mental health provider. Feels scatty and disorganized. Useless. I miss my old doctor.Posted on Google NgrizzyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been a patient here for over 10 years, but the quality has really declined. Appointments rarely start on time, communication has become inconsistent, and billing is unreliable. My last virtual visit was billed far higher than what was actually done. It’s becoming harder to trust this practice, and I hope these issues are addressed.Posted on Google Erin GawronskiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Let me start by saying, I love Dr. Eletriby. She has been by PCP for over 6 years, and I had nothing but positive experiences with her. That said, I -- like everyone else -- am so saddened by the state of our healthcare system. After getting a new insurance provider via my new job, I called to ask for a referral after I discovered I was newly pregnant. I was told that this practice wasn't contracted with my new insurance, and that they could neither see me nor write/fax a referral to another provider. So, at 8 weeks pregnant, I was booted out of this practice and told to get on a months-long waiting list somewhere else. They told me that there was nothing else they could do for me and to call back only if I got different insurance, and basically not to let the door hit me on the way out. So disappointed....Posted on Google RobynTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Due to my PCP leaving the practice, I have been trying to find a new PCP and how sad our healthcare system is. I heard this office was taking new patients. I am disgusted. I called 6 times before a human being answered the phone. Every time I called the person did not pickup they just immediately put me on hold without acknowledging that they picked up the call. If this is how they operate, why does anyone want to go to them? This is disgusting and unprofessional. Out world is going to hell in a hand basket and it starts with people who operate their businesses like this. I miss the old days when customer service was a thing. Don't worry, I am in healthcare, I will be spreading the word that this is not an office anyone should go to.Posted on Google Tess KimTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been seeing Dr. Shrager and Audrey Warner, PA, and have had nothing but positive experiences. Most recently, I saw Audrey for my annual exam, and she was both thorough and compassionate. As a gynecologist myself, I can say with confidence that her pelvic exam technique was excellent—very gentle and well-done. Overall, their team is thoughtful, caring, and knowledgeable. I always feel that my concerns are taken seriously, and that I’m in capable hands.Posted on Google Katherine “***” IodiceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I guess I'm used to the old fashioned doctor. You know the kind of doctor where they look at you and not at a computer to decide your fate. Maybe ten years ago I was overweight but honestly do I look like that now? Yes I'm older but to use that as an excuse for denial of certain treatments doesn't help. Taking 2 Tylenol and tough it out is an obscene remedy. No wonder some seniors are resorting to pain killers and CBD products.Posted on Google BenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The quality of primary care physicians here is exceptional (or at least that has been the case for me). Dr. Ali Tirmizi has been compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough in his assessments. I owe him my life for diagnosing a mass as cancer during a routine physical. The receptionists are a bit loud at times and not the friendliest, but I've otherwise had good experiences here.Posted on Google Gavin RomaniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The front desk staff is rude and they deserve zero stars. A little empathy goes a long way and they act like you are a bother.
Why Choose Us Section
Why Customers Choose Bay State Garage Door Service
We hear this from our customers consistently — they chose us because we answered the phone like a real local business, we showed up when we said we would, we explained things clearly, and we charged what we quoted. Those aren’t exceptional qualities — they should be the standard. But in the home services industry, they’re rare enough to matter.
We earn your trust one job at a time. If you haven’t worked with us before, we’d welcome the chance to show you what local, professional garage door service looks like.
